Justin Presnal
Justin Presnal is a partner and seasoned trial and appellate lawyer with more than 30 years of experience representing plaintiffs in complex product liability, mass tort, and multi-district litigation (MDL). He brings a deep command of legal strategy, a passion for writing, and a national reputation for helping clients win high-stakes cases.
Justin has served on leadership committees in some of the country’s largest MDLs, including litigation involving prescription opioids, defective hip implants, dangerous drugs, and recalled orthopedic devices. He was on the trial teams that secured billion-dollar verdicts and multi-million-dollar settlements in cases against Johnson & Johnson, Teva Pharmaceuticals, Walgreens, and others. In the landmark New York opioid litigation, Justin helped secure over $1.7 billion in recoveries for local governments impacted by the opioid crisis.
Recognized for his sharp legal analysis and compelling written advocacy, Justin’s work has helped shape critical rulings on jurisdiction, preemption, product warnings, and corporate liability in courts across the country. Justin is frequently asked to speak at legal conferences on multi-district litigation, trial procedure, and other complex litigation issues.
Justin is now using the experience he gained in those complex litigations to represent landowners in Texas faced with the threat of condemnation or eminent domain. A multi-generational Texan who grew up in the Brazos Valley, Justin understands well the devastating impact when landowners are told that an electrical transmission line or pipeline is going to be built on their property without their permission.
Justin is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, an honor extended to attorneys who demonstrate outstanding professional achievement and a strong commitment to the legal profession and their communities. Through this role and his broader work in the legal field, Justin supports initiatives that promote justice, legal access, and the advancement of the profession in Texas.
He is board certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America and Texas Super Lawyers for many years. Justin has also been honored as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer in Texas by the National Trial Lawyers. He is admitted to practice before all Texas courts, the U.S. Supreme Court, and multiple federal district courts.
Justin earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from Texas A&M University and his J.D., cum laude, from Baylor University School of Law.
