HDSMJ Daycare Abuse Case Featured In The Waco Trib And Other Publications

Local media outlets recently published articles related to a daycare abuse case handled by HDSMJ partner Zollie Steakley. Mr. Steakley represents the parents of a 4-month-old child who died while at daycare; the lawsuit alleges that the owner of the daycare was grossly negligent when she gave the young child an over-the-counter (OTC) version of the antihistamine Benadryl in order to make the child go to sleep at naptime.

In addition to facing this civil lawsuit, the owner of the daycare has been indicted by a McLennan County grand jury for murder, numerous counts of endangering a child, and one count of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.
