Auto Defect Lawyers

A defective automobile can cause severe injuries, property damage, and even death to the passengers and other individuals on the road. Some automobiles have been so unsafe that after a public outcry, the manufacturer has had to remove the automobile from the market. For example, in 1980 Ford had to recall 21 million cars after a transmission defect caused over 6,000 accidents, 1,700 injuries, and 98 deaths.

As recently as June 19, 2008, Harrison Davis won its own significant jury verdict in a case against Ford. The case involved the cruise control switch on a Ford Expedition. The manufacturer had issued a recall notice. Yet, the local Ford dealership failed to perform the recall procedures necessary to render the defective switch safe. Indeed, the dealership went so far as to tell the Plaintiffs to ignore the recall notice altogether. Sadly, the plaintiffs’ home and vehicle were later destroyed by a fire sparked by the defective cruise control mechanism.

Harrison Davis is a Texas Law Firm with a national reputation for being vigorous trial attorneys. Our trial lawyers have successfully handled numerous personal injury and product liability claims in Texas (including Dallas, Ft. Worth, Irving and Austin) and throughout the United States. These cases have involved defective cars and SUVs. Sadly, many of the cases were like the one described above, where the fault product was subject to a manufacturer’s recall.

Experienced Texas Product Liability and Auto Defect Trial Attorneys

Not all defective car parts are subject to a recall. In some instances, only a small number of parts are defective and the manufacturer decides not to issue a mass recall. In other situations, defective parts impact enough cars that the manufacturer issues an auto recall, but the dealership may advise consumers that the problem is minor and nothing to worry about.

If you have been injured by a defective car part that was or was not part of an automobile recall, you should speak to an experienced trial lawyer immediately.
