On April 25, 2008, Actavis recalled all lots of Bertek and UDL Laboratories Digitek® tablets. The Digitek ® recall is due to the possibility that these tablets may contain twice the approved level of active ingredient than is appropriate.
According to the company, these double strength tablets pose a risk of digitalis toxicity, causing nausea, vomiting, dizziness, low blood pressure, cardiac instability, heart attacks and even death. Patients taking Digitek® should contact their doctor to discuss this recall. Do not discontinue medications without consulting your doctor.
